Aydıntaşbaş: 10 articles will pave the way for democratization

DİYARBAKIR (DİHA) - Journalist-author Aslı Aydıntaşbaş evaluated the ongoing discussions on the 10 articles presented by PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan. Aydıntaşbaş underlined that these 10 articles would pave the way for democratization of Turkey.

A delegation from the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) and representatives of the ruling AKP government released the first joint announcement on the ongoing process of democratic resolution of the Kurdish Question on 28 February. While the discussions are ongoing concerning the 10 articles presented by Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) Leader Abdullah Öcalan, evaluations are also going on for the importance of each article in advantage of the society.

'Disarmament is composed of Erdoğan's fantasy world'

Journalist-author Aslı Aydıntaşbaş spoke to DİHA and evaluated ecpecially the articles. She criticized those focusing on "disarmament" just in the wake of the joint statement. Aydıntaşbaş said, "The government still says; May the PKK come, beg and this topic be closed". She underlined, "There is no such a world anywhere. Laying down arms is composed of Erdoğan's fantasy world. This is an organizations which is conducting armed struggle for a long time. It has undertaken vital duties in the Middle East against Daesh. So, disarmament is beside the mark for now."

'A constitution to be formed in the spirit of draft will be libertarian'

"A constitution to be formed in the spirit of draft of Öcalan will be libertarian," stated Aydıntaşbaş. She went on, "It will be certainly better than the current one. If the fundamental demands and freedoms of the Kurdish people and Kurdish identity are achieved, people in Izmir will also be liberated."

'Homeland Security Package is a state of insanity'

She criticized the controversial "Homeland Security Package" and the insistence of government to actualize it.  Aydıntaşbaş put emphasis on, "This insistence is an insincerity all by itself. Homeland Security Package is a state of insanity. Peoples' Democratic Party has taken a promise of amendment in the package following the joint statement. This will be a superb walnut for the HDP in the eve of general elections."
