'Attackers in Saray were executives of AKP' 2015-05-17 08:21:02 TEKIRDAĞ (DİHA) - Following the opening of an HDP election office in the Saray district of Tekirdağ province, in the European part of Turkey west of Istanbul, a fascist mob attacked it. Hundreds of people condemned the attack in Çorlu in the evening of Saturday. After HDP members opened an election office in the Saray district of Tekirdağ, a group of initially 50 racists surrounded the office. When there was no police intervention the group rapidly swelled to over a thousand. Sources told that the attackers threw stones, breaking the office windows, and that a group of 80 to 100 HDP supporters were trapped in the building. One source said that an AKP district administrator was directing the mob. The attack was protested with a march in Çorlu district. HDP Tekirdağ Provincal Co-chair Şehnaz Kaya said, "The attack was organized days ago. The attackers were AKP Saray district officials, municpality members and civilian fascists". The crowd of people carried the flags of HDP and chanted slogans in support of it. (nt)
