Ardahan to back HDP this time

ARDAHAN (DİHA) – While the parliamentary candidates of the HDP are resuming their election works across Kurdistan and Turkey, they are going from door to door across the country within the scope of their election campaign.

The Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) candidate list for the June 7th parliamentary elections mirrors its resolve to embrace different segments of society in order to reach its ambitious goal of exceeding the 10 percent election threshold. In accordance with election campaign, new declarations of support are coming day after day.

'HDP is gathering everybody under its umbrella'

The shopkeepers and locals in eastern province of Ardahan believe that the HDP will win a deputy in the city. They have withdrew their support for the AKP and CHP and said, "We will say stop to both of them at this election". One of the locals in the city, Ahmet Yıldız, noted, "AKP has no businees here anymore. AKP has not produced any service in the city. HDP is hope for all of us from now on. HDP is gathering everybody under its umbrella".

‘HDP must pass election threshold to stop AKP'

"HDP will win a deputy in Ardahan this year," shopkeeper İlhan Şit said. "We see this certain. Support and interest to HDP is spreadin everyday. The bad profils of political leaders caused matter of confidence in the people across Turkey. But, the peoples believe in the co-leaders of HDP. Even nationalist sides are supporting Selahattin Demirtaş - HDP general co-chair," added Şit.

Both the Alawi and Turkish citizens in the city are supporting the HDP, Şit underlined, adding the HDP must pass the election threshold in order to stop the AKP.

‘This once HDP’

Another shopkeeper Yaşar Avşar stated, "We have been victimized as the AKP has not produced any service in the city. AKP has won up until today. The AKP and CHP are similar. There is no other remedy apart from the HDP. We will support the HDP this once".
