Egypt hangs 6 from group affiliated with ISIS 2015-05-17 12:45:43 NEWS DESK (DİHA) - Egyptian authorities have hanged six persons convicted of carrying out attacks in the name of a group that pledged loyalty to the ISIS gang group. It was not immediately clear when they were executed though the AFP report on Sunday did say the six men had been sentenced to death by a military tribunal. In Novermber 2014, Egypt's Ansar Beit al-Maqdis, the country's most active armed group, pledged its allegiance to ISIS, in a recording posted on Twitter. "We announce our pledge of allegiance to the caliph Ibrahim Ibn Awad ... to listen and obey," the audio recording said, referring to ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi. (nt)
