Bodies of 3 YPJ/YPG fighters brought to Suruç 2015-06-11 17:26:47 URFA (DİHA) - Bodies of YPJ fighters Benazir Sönmez (Ruken Van) and Narin Şakı (Ruken Sterk), YPG fighter Turgut Çiftçi were brought from Kobanê to Suruç district. Bodies of YPJ (Women's Protection Units) fighters Benazir Sönmez (nom de guerre Ruken Van) and Narin Şakı (nom de guerre Ruken Sterk), and YPG fighter Turgut Çiftçi were met by the families and a crowd of people at the border and brought to Suruç district. YPJ/G fighters lost their lives in the clashes with Daesh gangs in Kobanê Canton during cleansing operations on June 6th and 7th. The families and members of MEYA-DER, an organization for solidarity with those lost in war in Mesopotamia, took the bodies at Mürşitpınar Border Gate. A crowd of thousands of people met the funerals in front of Suruç State Hospital with the slogans of "Martyrs don't die", "Long live resistance of YPG/YPJ" and "Long live Leader Apo". After autopsy at the Urfa Forensic Medical Institute, body of YPJ fighter Sönmez will be brought to Van's Gürpınar district, body of YPJ fighter Şakı to Şırnak's Silopi district and body of YPG fighter Çiftçi to Van city center to be laid to rest there.
