The detainees were taken to the ground floor of the building where they were subject to violence, while their identity cards and mobile phones were also seized. Those detained in the armed operation were later taken to Diyarbakır Police Headquarters. It is reported that police had no search warrant or an official document for the raid. Since the implementation of the war concept by AKP, DIHA (Dicle News Agency) has been censored 20 times. Armored police vehicles had been waiting outside the building for days. The permission for the raid was given at 17:55 but was written for 17:30, a full ten minutes before the attack on a military convoy in the area, which was the reason given for the raid. Turkish police raided offices of media associations when PM Ahmet Davutoğlu said press was free accross the country. Dicle News Agency, which reports primarily from the Kurdish region has been censored 20 times since July 24th 2015, when the AKP and President Erdogan initiated the new war policy of the Turkish state against the Kurdish people. HDP Deputy Meral Danis Bestas called on all media agencies and journalists to raise their voices against this attack on the free media. (nt)
