5 blasts in Şırnak: Police casualties reported

ŞIRNAK (DİHA) - Reports are coming through of blasts, clashes and police casualties in the province of Şırnak.

Şırnak's Yeni neighborhood has been shaken by 5 consecutive blasts Monday evening. According to some local sources, at least 5 special operation police have died in the blasts which occurred near a crossroads on the road leading to Cizre district.

The blasts were followed by clashes in the area to which a number of ambulances have been dispatched. While the region is also witnessing an intense helicopter activity, some other reports say a police service vehicle has been targeted by a missile attack, which has resulted in casualties.

While clashes are reported to be ongoing, police forces have laid a siege around Yeni neighborhood and started to attack it with heavy arms.
