Governorship of Şırnak is torturing the families of the dead. 2016-02-12 22:42:57 ŞIRNAK (DIHA) - 36 of the people who were killed in Cizre, were brought to Habur border gate in Silopi. Families who went there, wanting to identify their dead relatives, were not permitted without any excuse. The HDP Şırnak member of parliament, Leyla Birlik, emphasized that they are trying to cover up the massacre. 36 bodies of those who were killed by the state forces, while staying injured inside basements of buildings, were brought to the cold storage department of the Habur border gate in Silopi, and families were denied access. With the possibility that also children may be among the dead bodies, HDP Şırnak member of parliament, Leyla Birlik, and Şırnak members of the Human Rights Association (İHD) together with 22 families that came to the border gate, were blocked by the authorities for no justified reason. Autopsy of 18 corpses has been completed The decision for denying access was taken in the morning by Şırnak Governor, Ali İhsan Su, who came to Habur and had a meeting with other officials. While the delegation of Human Rights Association and the HDP MP, Birlik, were having negotiations with the authorities, it became known that, until then the autopsy of 18 of the corpses, being kept inside the cold storage department, was completed. The head of Şırnak branch ofHuman Rights Association, Emirhan Uysal, together with forensic doctors wanted to be present at the autopsies made, but this request was also denied by the authorities. The massacre is being covered up. Speaking about the topic, HDP MP, Birlik, emphasized that they want to cover up the massacre and told the following: "The families want to identify their children and lawyers want to enter the autopsies according to the right they have. But, they make us wait here unlawfully. The given orders of the Governor of Şırnak, that nobody, except for those who want to go to Iraq, will be allowed to enter, makes clear that they want to cover up the executions and the massacre. I am very confident to say that in the 3 basements the injured people were executed. 8 of the first corpses brought to Urfa, were shot on the head. And now, they are trying to cover up the murder. We cannot even speak on the telephone with the autopsy prosecutor. The things we face do not fit with law, nor ethics, nor humanity. A word of Şırnak Governor here is from now on above the law." The vicepresident of the HDP group, Idris Baluken, has passed the issue to the ministry of justice and talks have started. (ft)
