10-hectare forestland reduced to ash in Dersim
DERSİM (DİHA) - A forest fire broke out in Kurusıpi territory bound to Sihenk (Atatürk) neighbourhood of Dersim after the artillery shooting of Turkish army's 4th Commandery Brigade.
The fire was put out after long efforts of firefighters and citizens. One of the houses in the territory was saved from burning at the last minute. The witnesses of artillery shooting of Turkish troops said: "A small fire broke out in the region on grounds of the artillery shooting. Then, the fire spreaded up due to intense wind. In the wake of a short time, a 10-hectare forestland was reduced to ash."
The villagers in Kurusipi territory reacted as following: "Our animals are in the forest. All of them were burnt alive. The military forces burnt our houses. What do these want from us? Everywhere was burnt on grounds of artillery shooting of Turkish army. We are tired of these."
