15 youngs join YPG in Dêrik
DÊRIK (DİHA) - While the brutal attacks on Kobanê by the ISIS (Islamic State of Iraq and al Sham) gangs are paving the way for a massacre of the Kurdish people day by day, Kurdish youths are continuing to join the ranks of the YPG (People’s Defence Units).
After 15 youths finished their basic training in the academy of Şehîd (Martyr) Xebat, they took up their arms and joined the ranks of the YPG. After successfully finishing their ideological and military training at the training cycle organised under the name of Şehîd Diyar in the academy of Şehit Xebat in Derîk, 15 youths took their places within the ranks of the YPG fighters following a ceremony.
The military ceremony organised to mark the ending of the training period started with one-minute silence in memory of the martyrs of the revolution. A commander of the YPG, Reşîd Dêrik, and the mother of Şehît Diyar also attended the ceremony.
Issuing a short speech for the YPG fighters who have just finished their basic training, Reşîd Dêrik drew attention to the historic resistance of the YPG fighters and to the underlying aims of the attacks by the ISIS gangs and the powers supporting them. The mother of Şehît Diyar also made a short speech and said that they will never leave the path of the martyrs.
After the ceremony, the YPG fighters who pledged loyalty to the martyrs of the revolution and to the people, were given their certificates. Then they sang revolutionary songs and marches. Finally, they took up their arms and officially joined the ranks of the YPG.
