180 youngs from a town joined YPG in one month
EFRÎN (DİHA) - A total of 180 youths from a town in Efrîn joined the ranks of the YPG (People's Protection Units) in October as a remarkable increase has been taking place in participation in the Kobanê resistance since a call Kurdish people's leader Abdullah Öcalan voiced for mobilisation in face of the ongoing attacks by ISIS gangs.
According to the information obtained from YPG sources, 180 Kurdish and Arab youths from the Cindirêsê town of Efrîn, aged between 18 and 30, joined YPG forces in October. YPG officials in Cindirêsê area, said that apart from these 180 youths, dozens of people aged over 50 have also applied to YPG centres, highlighting a demand and will to join the duty of defense, and stating that they are ready for any duty in case of mobilisation.
The youths who have newly joined YPG ranks said they were happy and honored to defend their people and land, underlining; "We want to join the resistance in not only Efrîn region but also in Kobanê. If needed, we can also go to the Cezîrê region and protect the people and lands of Rojava against the attacks of ISIS gangs."
The majority of the 180 youths has been assigned to the recently eatablished Martyr Osman Miqdad Battalion and others to various battalions of the YPG in the same region.
