MLKP fighter: We'll be at front until Shengal is liberated
SHENGAL (DİHA) - MLKP fighters active in the operation to liberate Sinjar evaluated the latest situation for ANF. MLKP fighter Yılmaz Özgür said that fierce fighting was continuing and that Sinjar town would soon be liberated by the resistance forces.
Özgür said: “Since the beginning of the resistance we have been struggling alongside our comrades from the HPG and YBŞ.” He said that in the last 4 days the ‘liberate Sinjar operation’ had begun and that they were there: “Because we defend the Kurdish nation’s right to self-determination. That is why we have been involved in the Rojava revolution. Here in Sinjar the Yazidi people have been targeted in particular for massacre. A struggle for humanity is being waged here. We are approaching the completion of the operation to liberate Sinjar. We will continue to be in the front line until both the Kurdistan revolution and the Rojava revolution are completed. No force can prevent us from doing this. We are progressing with firm steps.”
‘The operation began by liberating northern Sinjar’
Özgür said they had begun the operation by liberating the northern part of Sinjar, adding that clashes were continuing. He said that some of his comrades had fallen, but believed they would soon liberate Sinjar.
‘The Êzidis should return’
Özgür called on the Êzidis, most of whom were forced to leave their homes, to return to Sinjar. He added: “If there had been an organised defence force this would not have happened. I call on the Êzidi people to return and defend and protect their culture by organising within the YBŞ and creating a new system.”
