Pencewînî: South Kurdistan people want guerrilla to stay
NEWS CENTER (DİHA) - Pencewînî remarked that the guerrillas were facing discrimination among the peshmerga fighters, and that this was unacceptable.
Politician and poet M.Emîn Pencewînî spoke to ANF regarding the recent statements by KCK Executive Council Co-presidency and HPG Commander Murat Karayılan that the PKK was discussing the withdrawal of guerrilla forces fighting ISIS in South Kurdistan. While the statements have sparked debates among intellectuals and politicians in South Kurdistan, KNK (Kurdistan National Congress) member Pencewînî who commented the latest developments in the region to ANF said he found the criticism of Karayılan and KCK towards South Kurdistan justified, stressing that “People of South Kurdistan witnessed the bravery of the guerrilla and want them to stay”.
'Some media outlets in South Kurdistan consider PKK to be terrorist'
Pencewînî who met both the KCK administrators and the guerrilla commanders fighting in the battle field following the eruption of debates said: "Guerrillas tell that they need new and effective arms in the fight against the ISIS, and that this demand of theirs has yet to be answered. Those guerrillas are fighting in the front through their own means." Pencewînî, remarking that the guerrillas were facing discrimination among the peshmerga fighters, and that this was unacceptable, underlined that: "At a turning point where the whole world praises the PKK today, some media outlets in South Kurdistan consider the PKK to be terrorist."
Criticism to the South Kurdistan media
Pencewînî continued by voicing the following criticism to the South Kurdistan media; "While the world media witnessed the bravery of the PKK guerrillas who saved the lives of hundreds of thousands of Êzidis by opening a corridor from Sinjar into Rojava in August, the South Kurdistan media passed over this. Some press organs in particular said no single word about the guerrillas that were martyred in the operation to save Yazidis."
“I hope the KCK and PKK administration makes a decision for the guerrillas to stay, which I believe will also provide contribution to the national unity of the Kurds”, M.Emîn Pencewînî said. 73-year-old Pencewînî said the intellectuals and politicians in South Kurdistan he has recently met also agreed with him, adding; "South Kurdistan patriots, democrats and all those siding with national unity want the guerrilla to stay but the final decision will be made by the KCK administration."
