Yüksekdağ: Negotiation stage could begin within 2 weeks
ANKARA (DİHA) - Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Co-president Figen Yuksekdag has said that the solution process that is ongoing to solve the Kurdish question in Turkey may enter the negotiation stage within the next two weeks.
HDP General Co-chair came together with journalists at the Parliament. Discussions have been ongoing between the Turkish state and PKK Leader Abdullah Ocalan, who is communicating with the Kurdish movement, PKK, through the HDP, since 2013. Until now discussions had been deadlocked in the first stage, which was deemed by Ocalan as the 'debate stage'. Yuksekdag has also said that a joint statement could be made with the AKP government soon regarding this development.
'Security act is a danger in face of solution process'
Yüksekdağ has added, "The content of solution process includes a democratic improvement. You must not reduce these talks only with security act and package. The content of solution process is the democratization of Turkey. From the beginning to now, democratization of the country have been spoken about. We are discussing democratization via this ongoing process. Security act is a serious danger in the face of the solution process."
'Negotiation stage could begin within 2 weeks'
Answering a question regarding the negotiation process, Yuksekdag underlined that the solution process that is ongoing to solve the Kurdish question in Turkey may enter the negotiation stage within the next two weeks. She added there were no negative development in relation with this so far.
