Prof. Dr. Sancar: First article is aiming at turn to politics
ANKARA (DİHA) - Prof. Dr. Mithat Sancar evaluated the ongoing discussions on the 10 articles presented by PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan. Sancar said the first article was aiming at turn to the politics.
A delegation from the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) and representatives of the ruling AKP government released the first joint announcement on the ongoing process of democratic resolution of the Kurdish Question on 28 February. While the discussions are ongoing concerning the 10 articles presented by Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) Leader Abdullah Öcalan, evaluations are also going on for the importance of each article in advantage of the society.
'Changes must be made in the juridiciary regulations'
Academiscian, author and Prof. Dr. Mithat Sancar spoke to DİHA and evaluated ecpecially the first article, namely "the definition and principled discussion of democratic politics, to be shared with the public". Sancar stated, "Political foundations can conduct their activities freely. They must pave the way for these. There are numerous of inhibitons in front of the politics. At first, changes must be made in the juridiciary regulations. The laws barring freedom of organisation, thought, press and policy must be removed and radical changes must be done. There are thousands of people in the prisons. There is need for regulations as these people can join in politics freely."
'The sine qua non is to remove obstacles in front of politics'
When the time of 'leaving arms' comes, they can provide those owners of arm with opportunities as to conduct policy freely, said Sancar. He underlined, "The sine qua non is to remove all the obstacle in front of the politics, to remove obstacles in front of persons, foundations and organizations. All these will be negotiated within the scope of first article. This can be the summary of the first article."
