Ecologists: It's gladsome that matter of ecology handled in Imrali
ANKARA (DİHA) - The 10-articles draft, presented by PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan via a joint declaration by the Imrali Delegation and the AKP government, covers many issues from the matter of ecology to the matter of women for the democratization of the country.
The negotiation draft has not remained limited with only the Kurdish issue. Lots of social problems have gained importance as the Kurdish leader pointed to them. The ecologists evaluted the article of "Legal solutions and assurances of the problems of ecology".
'Kurdish movement proved its universality'
Şırnak Environment Platform Representative Jihat Ürgen said they were following the issue closely and stated that both the Party of Democratic Regions (DBP) and Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) had ecological programs for the region. "We were already waiting for such an article from the Kurdish movement. We have never seperated ecology anf the Kurdish issue. The topics at the joint statement are not only the matters of the Kurds, but also matters in the all Middle East, namely humane matters. The movement has a philosphy exceeding the Kurds. Everybody knows this very well," underlined Ürgen.
'Enlargening and actualizing the articles is requisite'
Green Gerze Platform (YEGEP) Spokeperson Songül Şahin stated, "We should regard human not the master of the nature, but a part of it. We should enhance the struggles of those defending nature and living quarters. The enlargening and actualizing the articles read by Sırrı Süreyya Önder in joint declaration is requisite. But, the articles have not a policy of energy. Namely, there is no such a statement like 'I will not establish hydro-electric power plants, thermic and nuclear plants'. It's gladsome that matter of ecology handled in Imrali"
