MANİSA (DİHA) - HDP Co-president Selahattin Demirtaş said: "We must find a way to change this government. It doesn’t care about either the 301 miners who died at Soma, or those who died in Ağrı.”

HDP Co-president Selahattin Demirtaş spoke after attending the first hearing in the Soma mine disaster case. He said a new government must be formed by the HDP representing all the oppressed and those who have been ostracised. He said those who had died at Soma had not died as the result of an accident, but of a crime. He said it was not only the court that had a responsibility to dispense justice.

Demirtaş said: "After such an incident the Energy Minister should have resigned. Not one politician is on trial. The accused should be found guilty, but those in charge of the corrupt system should go on trial.”

HDP Co-president accused the government of worshipping money, adding: "We have to find a way of changing the government. We must establish our own government. This government doesn’t care about either the 301 miners who died at Soma, or those who died in Ağrı.”

After he had made his statement Demirtaş, HDK Co-spokesperson Sebahat Tuncel, Izmir candidate Ertuğrul Kürkçü and other HDP members walked to the HDP Akhisar branch building, where they were welcomed by slogans. Demirtaş made a short speech in front of the building, saying: “If we want to wake up on 8 June to a free country we must go house to house and street to street to campaign for the HDP.”
