Attack at HDP building in Bartın
BARTIN (DİHA) - As attacks on HDP (Peoples' Democratic Party) members, supporters and election offices continue going unpunished in line with the ongoing provocative statements of the AKP officials, the party is facing further attacks in almost all cities and districts across Turkey every day.
As part of the systematic attack against the party, a mob of around 50 people attacked the HDP’s recently opened election bureau, located on the 3rd floor of a building in Black Sea province of Bartın. The group broke a party banner outside the bureau and removed a placard from the windows that read: “We won’t let you build more coal-fired power plants.”
The attackers threw tiles from the roof of the neighboring building and tore the banner, reportedly chanting “Allah-u Akbar” (God is Great).
Two racist attackers allegedly involved in an attack on the HDP election bureau building in the city were detained.
The incident marks the latest in a number of racist attacks at HDP offices and election campaign across Turkey.
