Beştaş: PM and Interior Minister are making false statements
ADANA (DİHA) - HDP Adana Parliamentarian candidate Meral Danış Beştaş said they are not convinced by the government’s statements on the identity of the attacker in bomb attacks on HDP headquarters in Adana and Mersin.
HDP (Peoples' Democratic Party) Adana Parliamentarian candidate Meral Danış Beştaş said that they do not find the statements on the attacker’s identity convincing, as the Prime minister and the Interior minister are making false statements.
HDP Adana Parliamentarian candidate Meral Danış Beştaş spoke on the attacks against HDP headquarters in the southern provinces of Adana and Mersin and said that they do not find the statements on the attacker’s identity convincing, as the Prime minister and the Interior minister are making false statements. In her statement, Beştaş explained that the Adana police department do not view her as authorized and refuse to inform her, yet leaked information on the case to the press. Beştaş said “We are the actual people targeted by this event but we are not informed”.
Beştaş added that they are not convinced by the government’s statements and do not think that the person called Savaş Yıldız is actually a DHKP-C member.
Beştaş pointed out that the dates of the HDP co-presidents’ visit to the region were made public two weeks prior to the event and the attacks were planned as a massacre after that. Beştaş said that the meetings they had with the police and the governor’s office were both futile, and the Ankara government was informed on the investigation despite the confidentiality order on it. Beştaş called on the police department to share its information with HDP on the attack.
Beştaş reminded that like many have done in previous days, 4 witnesses went to the Police department yesterday and could not identify the attacker in the photos they were shown. She stated that they are well aware of what happened to the cases of Kadri Bağdu and İbrahim Aras, as well as the workings of the state. Beştaş underlined that they do not think Savaş Yıldız is a DHKP-C member.
Lastly, Beştaş showed her reaction in the following way: "Kurds and socialists are seen as usual suspects in Turkey. We condemn the government’s attitude. Soon they will even say that we bombed ourselves!"
