Massive farewell for YPG fighter Yıldız

MUŞ (DİHA) - Thousands bid farewell to YPG fighter Vedat Yıldız in his homeland Muş.

The body of YPG (People's Protection Units) fighter Vedat Yıldız (nom de guerre Kendal Baz) was laid to rest by thousands of people in his village İyikomşu (Toraqa) of eastern province of Muş. The YPG fighter had died after a clash with Daesh gangs in Hesekê city of Rojava.

A crowd of people consisting of Party of Democratic Regions (DBP) and Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) executives, HDP Muş deputy candidates, co-mayors and activists of Peace Mothers Assembly joined the funeral ceremony.

The locals carried the flags of YPG, YPJ, posters of PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan, YPG fighter Yıldız in the march, chanting the slogans of "Long live resistance of YPG/YPJ", and "Martyrs are immortal".

One minute silence was held in memory of all those who lost their lives in the struggle of freedom and democracy.
