Youth unites under roof of DEM-GENÇ federation
DİYARBAKIR (DİHA) - The youth of Kurdistan and Turkey has declared the foundation of the Federation of Democratic Youth Unions' (DEM-GENÇ) at a press statement in the main Kurdissh city of Diyarbakır on Friday.
The youths set the federation in order to bring a radical solution of the problems of youth and to enhance the struggle of youth within the scope of re-organization model. The youths applied to Diyarbakır Governor's Office on Thursday and annouced the establishment today.
The press statement was held in front of the building of Democratic Regions Party (DBP) and joined by both founders of the federation and Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Batman MP Ayla Akat Ata.
DEM-GENÇ Co-chair Cihan Güneri defined the re-organization model as a new term, adding, "We entering into a new phase based on new term strategy of Kurdish freedom movement. We will conduct struggle with a spirit in accordance with this new phase of struggle".
Güneri said they would hold the opening ceremony of the federation on June 1st with the participation of HDP and DBP Diyarbakır provincal co-chairs, calling on all the Diyarbakır residents and youths to take part in the ceremony.
