Diyarbakır celebrates HDP victory
DİYARBAKIR (DİHA) - With reports indicating with almost total certainty that the HDP has passed Turkey's electoral threshold, the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) and Democratic Regions Party (DBP) in Diyarbakır have called on all people in the city to come to the massive Newroz field for a celebration.
The HDP had previously announced that there would be no victory celebrations until the morning of June 8th when results were absolutely finalized, but the people of Diyarbakır have not heeded the call. The people have poured into the streets outside of the DBP provincial building and in the Ofis neighborhood. The party has called for all victory celebrants, except for those holding vigil outside the city's electoral office, to head to the massive Newroz field.
