Demirtaş: AKP and CHP should form coalition
ISTANBUL (DİHA) - HDP Co-president Demirtaş said that they would not form a coalition with AKP, and suggested that AKP and CHP should form coalition instead.
HDP Co-president Selahattin Demirtaş said that they would not form a coalition with AKP, and suggested that AKP and CHP should form coalition instead. HDP Co-President answered journalists’ questions before going to Ankara for his party’s Election Coordination, Party Caucus and Central Executive Board meetings.
'We won't allow tensions'
Demirtaş emphasized that they would not allow tensions, contribute to chaos or form a coalition with AKP. Acknowledging their responsibilities, Demirtaş said that they are discussing alternatives to an HDP-AKP coalition.
'AKP-CHP coalition is the first option'
Demirtaş stated that a possible AKP-CHP coalition should be discussed because these are the twp parties that received the highest amounts of votes. Demirtaş said that citizens point at such a coalition by having voted for these two parties more than any other political group. Acknowledging their responsibilities as HDP, Demirtaş stated that they will continue working for bringing political stability and said that the peace process would continue no matter what happens.
