'AKP and Turkish state lost as much as ISIS did'
NEWS CENTER (DİHA) - Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) Executive Committee Member Murat Karayılan stated that AKP and the Turkish state lost as much as ISIS did after the YPK-YPJ victory at Girê Spî.
Karayılan spoke to Ronahi TV and stated that the recent Girê Spî victory was a serious blow to ISIS and its supporters. Karayılan pointed out that AKP and the Turkish state were bothered by this victory because they would not acknowledge or support Kurds’ will.
Karayılan said that the victory of YPJ-YPG and Burkan El Fırat forces was an important gain for the collective resistance of people in Syrian politics, which had begun during the Kobanê resistance. Karayılan praised Kurdish people’s will and resistance during the defense of Kobanê, which later continued during the Til-Hemîs and Til-Berak initiatives, the war between Haseki and Til Temir, and the liberation of Mount Kizwan and its surroundings.
Karayılan described the Girê Spî initiative, which had begun in both Kobanê and Cizîr cantons, as a historic victory with new consequences. Karayılan said that collective resistance is now stronger and the main ISIS supply route is finally cut off.
