Protests for Suruç Massacre across Europe
NEWS DESK (DİHA) - There were marches and protests across Europe yesterday to condemn the bombing in Suruç yesterday.
Yesterday, in the town of Suruç, Turkey, 32 were killed in a bomb attack targeting a group of youth planning to take part in the reconstruction of the city of Kobanê, Rojava. Across Europe, protestors gathered in front of Turkish consulates and marched through town centers to condemn the attack yesterday.
In Germany, left groups, Kurdish organizations and Alevi organizations held marches and protests in Hamburg, Stuttgart, Nuremberg, Berlin and Ulm. Three were arrested in Berlin when police attacked the march. The crowd held a sit-in until the arrestees were released.
Protestors gathered outside of Turkish embassies and consulates in London, Vienna and several cities in Switzerland. Police were out in force at the Turkish consulate in Zurich. A group of youth also held an action in the central garage in Zurich.
In France, thousands were out in Nantes, Bordeaux, Montpellier, Toulouse, Marseilles and Nice to protest the massacre. The World Peace Movement and several left political parties were among those out at the protests.
Rojava solidarity organizers have called a march in Madrid today for 7 p.m.
