Kobanê Canton officials visit site of massacre
URFA (DİHA) - Officials from Kobanê Canton visited Amara Culture and Arts Center in Suruç where 31 people were massacred on July 20. On behalf of the officials, Canton Executive Council President Enver Müslim said that terror had no place in humanity and promised to revitalize humanity in the region.
HDP parliamentarians İbrahim Ayhan, Ziya Çalışkan and Mahmut Toğrul, DBP and HDP district administrators and hundreds of civilians accompanied Kobanê officials. Müslim commemorated the young people who lost their lives, wished injured people a speedy recovery, and said that the massacre targeted humanity.
In his speech, Salih Müslim reminded that the wrath of terror unfortunately reached young people from different ethnic and religious backgrounds in Suruç, who had planned to go to Kobanê canton in order to help the people there. Müslim stated that the youth’s message of co-existence was the main goal of everyone, and they would stand with the people during Kobanê’s reconstruction just like they did in Kobanê resistance. Müslim said that the struggle of martyrs of democracy would prevail, and terrorists as well as their supporters were bound to lose.
Müslim ended his statement by offering condolences to the peoples of Turkey, and Kobanê officials met with HDP parliamentarians after the press statement.
