YPG: Siege around Sirîn completed
NEWS DESK (DİHA) - YPG/YPJ fighters took control of the road between Sirîn and Raqqa, and besieged the town of Sirîn.
YPG Media Center issued a written statement on the operations in Rojava. Regarding the operations in Hesekê, YPG stated that its advance in Neşwê neighborhood continued, and YPG/YPJ forces took control of another important junction here. YPG/YPJ forces also liberated 3 different locations after intense clashes, and took the majority of Neşwê neighborhood under control. The number of gang casualties has not yet been verified.
YPG/YPJ took control of Sirîn-Raqqa road
With regards to the operation in Kobanê, YPG said that it intensified its efforts and made advances in the village of Şuxha and Malha. YPG/YPJ forces also took control of the road between Sirîn and Raqqa, which completed the siege around the town of Sirîn. One military vehicle and one motorcycle have been destroyed during the operations, and number of gang casualties has not yet been verified.
Sirîn people held by ISIS as hostage to be used as human shields
After the heavy defeats they experienced at the hands of YPG/YPJ fighters, ISIS gangs are holding the people of Sirîn as hostage in order to use them as human shields. A confidential source living in Sirîn told ANHA News Agency that ISIS gangs had increased its pressures on civilians, who have been taken as hostages for months now, after the YPG/YPJ besieged Sirîn and disconnected the road between Raqqa and Sirîn.
Gangs have been making announcements in Sirîn that nobody could leave the town, and planting mines on the roads around the town in order to prevent civilians’ escape. Gangs have also been training children as suicide bombers and preparing grown-ups to be used as human shields.
