Governorate bans Great Peace March
ISTANBUL (DİHA) - Governor of Istanbul has banned the “Great Peace March” organized by the recently formed Peace Bloc against the war policies of the AKP and fascist terror of the radical Islamist ISIS organization. The march had been planned to take place from Tepebaşı neighborhood to Aksaray district for July 26.
In a notice sent to the representatives of the Peace Bloc, the Governor said the rally was banned in line with the Law on Meetings and Demonstrations, arguing that the route of the march wasn't included in the area of meetings and demonstrations.
The Governor also cited concerns over probable provocative actions due to the recently increasing acts of terror in the country, and concerns over the disarrangement of traffic and peace public.
