YPG: Strong resistance results in full liberation of Hesekê
HESEKÊ (DİHA) - Military operations conducted by combined forces of the People’s Defense Units (YPG) and the Women’s Defense Units (YPJ) continue to oppose and reject the Daesh (ISIS) terrorists in and around the city of Hesekê, Rojava, northeastern Syria.
Yesterday July 31 in southern Hesekê, the Defense Units’ movements lasted daytime and overnight in the Zohur neighborhood of the city, as the remaining ISIS gangs were intensively targeted inside the town through a firm operation that was carried out until morning hours.
After violent clashes, the Defense Units managed to fully secure a broad area that stretches from the Panorama District, and set up a whole-scale perimeter against withdrawing ISIS gang fighters. Dealing heavy blows to the terrorists, the Defense Units finally were able to utterly liberate the city of Hesekê.
This morning a range of mop-up operations were performed in city’s southern points which were previously occupied by the ISIS terrorists, on the other hand the Defense Units could push the ISIS attackers as far as 4 kilometers away from the city’s suburbs.
During overnight clashes in and around Hesekê an ISIS vehicle was destroyed while carrying 6 ISIS operative elements. The gang forces’ casualties on July 31 and the balance sheet for the Hesekê battle will follow soon to complete information, said the YPG Media Center.
