IZMIR/MERSIN (DIHA) - Peace Mothers in multiple cities of Turkey have started protests against war.

The Peace Mothers Assembly in the Aegean city of Izmir started a sit-in to protest the AKP's war policies. Local activists from a range of organizations supported the sit-in. Peyruze Kurt, one of the Peace Mothers at the demonstration, addressed those giving the order for war in Turkey.

"What do you want from us?" asked Kurt, who has one child in the guerrilla and one child serving as a soldier in the Turkish army.

Another sit-in Mersin

Meanwhile, Peace Mothers in the southern city of Mersin held a protest against the Turkish army's bombing of Kurdish guerrilla zones. "If you want war, send your own children to fight," said Peace Mother Emine Eren, addressing the AKP politicians pushing for war.

Tolê Baran, another Peace Mother, has lost one of her daughters in the guerrilla struggle in Turkey, one in the struggle to defend the revolution in Rojava against Turkey-sponsored Daesh attacks.

To Erdoğan: You're the one pushing them to death!

"Tayyip Erdoğan, don't you see these young people? Don't you see the blood that bleeds from their bodies?" said Baran. "These young people are dying. Soldiers, guerrilla, police are dying. You're the one pushing them to death. You're raining bombs on people; you're killing children. You killed and jailed people for dozens of years. Don't you remember? You didn't solve the problem this way," said Baran, who called for peace and the freedom of jailed PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan.
