Guerilla's mother: Don't bury my son
MERSİN (DİHA) - HPG guerrilla Yakup Nas (nom de guerrre Şiyar Renas), who lost his life in the attack at Pozanti police headquarters, has been laid to rest in southern province of Mersin. Speaking in her son's funeral ceremony, Nas' mother Maşallah Nas spoke in tears and said, "Don't bury my son, don't throw soil on him. He would put on the clothes I bought, not this coffin".
HPG (People's Defense Forces) guerrilla Yakup Nas (nom de guerrre Şiyar Renas), who lost his life in the attack at Pozanti police headquarters, has been laid to rest in southern province of Mersin. HPG attacked the police headquerters in Pozanti district of southern province of Adana two days ago.
In spite of all the obstacles of Turkish police, body of Nas was buried in Mersin. The funeral ceremony would be held in Mevlana neighbourhood following a massive funeral. But, Mersin Governorate, inhibited the march and the body of Nas was brought to nearby Güneykent cemetery.
The governorate closed all the roads to traffic to hinder the mass to participate into the funeral ceremony. The crowd joining the ceremony chanted slogans of "Martyrs do not die" and "Revenge, revenge" along the funeral ceremony. One minute silence was held in the person of Nas in memory of all the people who lost their lives in the struggle of democracy and freedom.
'Don't bury my son'
Speaking beside her son's grave, Nas' mother Maşallah Nas spoke in tears and said, "Don't bury my son, don't throw soil on him. He would put on the clothes I bought, not this coffin. I was kept waiting for his return. I had bought clothes for him. He would come and put on those clothes". The mother got fainted in the funeral ceremony, she had burst into tears beside the grave for a long time.
In the wake of funeral ceremony, a condolence tent has been opened in Toroslar district for the guerrilla.
