Scores detained in political genocide operations
NEWS DESK (DİHA) - Political genocide operations continue in parallel with the total warfare concept recently put into effect by the provisional government of AKP.
VAN
Following the conflict in Şehit (Martyr) Fırat neighborhood in Edremit district of Van two days ago, which was followed by the detention of two workers of Edremit Municipality, the municipality's Director of Technical Works, Uğur Cihan, was also detained. Taken into custody as a result of a house-raid operation by police at midnight, Cihan was taken to provincial police department.
İZMİR
16 people were detained in an expansive house-raid operation in Torbalı and Menemen district of İzmir. Eight people detained in Torbalı, who include executives of HDP district organization, were taken to İzmir police department. The police operation in Asarlık neighborhood of Menemen ended up with the detention of eight people accused of membership to YDG-H (Movement of Patriotic and Revolutionary Youth).
ERZURUM
11 people for whom a search warrant had been issued on the alleged grounds of "membership to an organization" in Tekman district of Erzurum, were detained by police at the district police department where they went to give their testimonies late yesterday afternoon. The 11 detainees will reportedly be referred to the prosecutor's office following procedures at police department.
On the other hand, Yunus Sarıkan, who went to Erzurum H Type Closed Prison for a visit to his political prisoner brother Nasır Sarıkan, was also detained this morning and taken to provincial police directorate.
