Youth heavily wounded by police
DİYARBAKIR (DİHA) - Police forces attacked youths who took to the streets in Bağlar district of Diyarbakır yesterday evening to protest the total warfare concept put into effect by the interim AKP government.
Clashes in the district lasted till midnight as protestors carried out self-defense against the police attack. A youth by the name of Veysel Acar was heavily wounded as police fired bullets and tear gas on the demonstrators.
Acar, who was hit by three bullets fired by police, was taken under treatment at Dicle University Medical Faculty. The youth remains in life-threatening condition and is being held in intensive care unit following a surgery.
