Police raid DİHA: 32 taken into custody
NEWS CENTER (DİHA) - Turkish police raided offices of DİHA, Azadiya Welat, Aram Publishing and KURDİ-DER in the main Kurdish city of Diyarbakır, and took 32 reporters, journalists and labourers of the media foundations into custody.
Turkish police organized simultaneous raids to the offices of Dicle News Agency (DİHA), Azadiya Welat, Aram Publishing and KURDİ-DER (Kurdish Language Research and Development Union) in the main Kurdish city of Diyarbakır at the evening hours of Monday. Turkish police batteted some reporters and journalists and seized the phones, and IDs of all of them.
Most of them reporters and journalists of DİHA, 32 people were taken into custody by police and brought to Provincal Police Headquarters. Police showed no permission report of searching for the media associations.
Some of the detained journalists are as follows: "Müjdat Can, Dicle Müftüoğlu, Reşit Bayram, Ömer Çelik, Devren Toptaş, Mazlum Dolan, Nurettin Akyıldız, Siyabend Yaruk, Ercan Bilen, Ferah Kılıç, Meltem Oktay, Ramazan Ölçen, Zafer Tüzün, Zeynel Abidin Bulut, Besalet Yaray, Ferit Köylüoğlu, Mahmut Rubanas, Aziz Oruç, Ayşe Nevroz, Suzan Toprak, Nazemin Çap, Diyar Balkaş and Mehmet Alî Ertaş."
