State forces entering houses, people at resistance
SIRNAK (DIHA) - In Silopi district of Şırnak where a state of siege is executed by Turkish state forces, military and police units broke into a house by force.
State forces pointed gun at the people inside the house, who include HDP Şırnak MP Ferhat Encü, and threatened them with execution. Speaking about the ongoing situation at the scene, HDP deputy Encü said; "After breaking the door and entering the building, they pointed a gun, threatened us with death and attempted to detain us by use of force. This is thuggery."
As the onslaught by state forces gets heavier, the state hospital in the district has been turned into a headquarter of military and police forces. Thousands of police and soldiers deployed across the district are trying to enter the neighborhoods since last night.
HDP deputy Encü stated that a number of tanks have been deployed in town centre and are conducting artillery attacks on neighborhoods. The town is also witnessing an intense activity of helicopters.
