NEWS CENTER (DİHA) - KCK Co-chair Cemil Bayık said in a statement, “The state does not have the right and legitimacy towards dominating every street and neighbourhood with central political understanding. You are not going to dominate every house, street and neighbourhood. You will need to accept the governance of the civillians.”

Kurdistan Communities Union (KCK) Executive Council Co-chair Cemil Bayık has written an article called “There can be no interlocutor other than the PKK” towards the newspapers “Yeni Özgür Politika’ and “Azadiya Welat”. Bayık noted, "The state will not take into account the PKK (Kurdistan Worker’s Party) the HDP (Peoples’ Democratic Party) or the island of İmralı - where PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan is kept in captivity - but is going to start the process with new interlocutors instead. These claims are a complete lie, demagogy and nonsense. If the state cannot solve the issue with İmralı, the PKK and HDP, they cannot solve it with anyone else."

'Turkish state has no policy or mentality for a solution'

"If a solution to a problem like the Kurdish issue is related to political and social demands, the HDP, Kurdish liberation movement (the PKK) and İmralı has shown and is still showing the most reasonable and realistic solution. It is the solution which needs to happen in a democratic country. The PKK, HDP and İmralı has given this opportunity and approach to those who wish to solve the Kurdish issue. If the Kurdish issue has not been solved despite this, it is because the Turkish state has no policy or mentality for a solution. Apparently new interlocutors are to be found which the Kurdish issue is to be solved with, these kind of evaluations are not true. They are trying to fool people by creating the view that they have a policy towards a solution," added he.

Ongoing curfews in 5 districts

Bayık also added on the way people are resisting against curfews that are imposed on them by the AKP government in different parts of Kurdistan which is ongoing in the districts of Cizre, Nusaybin, Dargeçit, Silopi and Sur by saying "The self-governance move that the people are taking is a solution project that does not aim to kill soldiers or police. It is a move which aims to improve solution without starting violent war. The Turkish government is attacking on this act the way they attack every solution model. It is the AKP government who uses the soldiers and police who attack the civilians."

Regarding the Turkish state’s criticism on the Kurdish people digging ditches, Bayık stated "Whoever does not see the resistance and defence means of ditches as legitimate, see the Turkish state’s occupancy and cultural genocidal colonialism as legitimate."
