Special operation teams occupy Silopi Municipality
ŞIRNAK (DİHA) - Turkish state forces have conducted a raid into the municipality building in Silopi district of Şırnak where a curfew remains in effect for the third day.
Special operation teams broke the doors of the building to get inside, after which the municipality watchman was locked up in a room and operation teams were positioned in upstairs. The soldiers and police also seized the hard disks of the computers in the building.
Silopi co-mayor Seyfettin Aydemir said this situation is unacceptable, saying; “They broke into the building after breaking the doors on the ground and basement floor, and neutralized the watchman. We have called both Şırnak and Silopi governors but they do not answer, and when they do, they just say 'This situation goes beyond us, there is nothing we can do'."
