Resistance barricades formed in Hacıahmet district of Istanbul

ISTANBUL (DIHA) - Police have attacked the group who have wanted to protest the curfews ongoing in Kurdistan in the districts of Cizre, Silopi, Sur, Nusaybin and Dargeçit.

The group, which gathered in front of Galatasaray High school in Istanbul in order to protest the curfews declared in Cizre, Silopi, Sur, Nusaybin and Dargeçit, have been attacked by police with tear gas and pressurized water.

The group then resisted against the attacks with self-defence by forming barricades in the neighbourhood of Hacıahmet. People, who are resisting against the police, are not allowing the police to enter the neighbourhood. The people in the neighbourhood are supporting the resistance of youth by making protests with noise.

Resistance in Kurdistan saluted

Youth were resisting behind barricades with slogans that they were throwing such as “Kurdistan will be a grave for fascism” and "Long live resistance in Kurdistan" in support of allout resistance against state terror and curfews.

Racist attack at HDP members

A racist mob has attacked with stones and knives at the members of Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) in the district. Following the attack, HDP members İsmail Karabulut and Cuma Geyik have been injured and taken to nearby hospitals.

Meanwhile, at least 8 youths have been taken into custody by police during crackdown.
