Reconciliation Committee replaces courts in Girê Spî
GİRÊ SPÎ (DİHA) - Reconciliation Committee settled 250 cases in Girê Spî (Tal Abyad). The committee replaces the ‘courts’ in the people’s mind becomes the only place to solve their issues and conflicts.
The committee is affiliated with the Assembly of Wise People and was formed 5 months ago following the liberation of Girê Spî from gangs of ISIS. The committee has 9 members from Arabs, Turkmens, Kurds, and Armenians. The primary aim of the committee is to solve the problems in the society. The committee has settled 250 cases including the ones related to familial and tribal issues, and cases of land, moneyi and revenge.
The committee’s leader Îbrahîm Îsa says some of the cases are settled within a few hours while some take days.
