Call from Sur: Go into uninterrupted action
DİYARBAKIR (DİHA) - İsmail Kaya from Sur called upon the people of Diyarbakır (Amed) to go into uninterrupted action in response to the ongoing siege and onslaught by Turkish state forces.
Speaking to Kurdish TV Med Nuçe, Kaya said state forces in the central Sur district are attacking civilian areas with heavy arms as the curfew remains in effect for the 23rd uninterrupted day.
Kaya pointed out that state forces are using cluster munition and mosques are being targeted by flame throwers, while gendarmerie special operation teams are also taking part in the operation in the district.
Kaya stressed that AKP's state forces are now burning houses in order to be able to make an advance as they have yet not managed to break the resistance of people in the areas of self-rule.
Reporting that attacks by Turkish forces are targeting civilians, having already left some wounded, while those resisting in streets are in good state and are not allowing police and military forces to enter their areas.
Noting that Turkish media is distorting the truths and hiding the losses of security members suffered in clashes, Kaya said 5 insurgents have lost their lives in the fighting so far. He added that an ISIS-like unit is also participating in the aggression.
“We will never bow. We do not accept this system and we will build our self-rule” said İsmail Kaya, and called upon the people of Amed to go into uninterrupted action, and youths to lead this resistance.
